A photographer named Peter Sohnwald is known to have been active in several towns in Estonia and Latvia from 1889 to 1903. He is later recorded as operating a studio in Riga under the name P. Zonvald, located on the corner of 11/12 King and Lubja ("Korolevskaya and Izvestkovaya"). The owner of the company is registered as Karl Neiman.

The photos in our collection, marked as being by “Foto P. Sohnwald” depict an exhibition of students' work at the ОRТ school in Riga, in May 1927. There is no further information on the photographer [see images].
