Mendel Palnicki was a photographer who owned a studio named Foto Sfinks in Hrodna [Grodno] and used to travel to other towns to take photos of Jewish residents. It is possible he also travelled to Lodz. The ORT archive holds several photos stamped "Sfinks, Lodz", which document ORT activities in Lodz and it is not clear if these are by the same photographer [see images].
