ORT has worked in in South Africa since 1936. It later established educational programmes for North Africa’s Jewish communities and has also assisted the Beta Israel community in Ethiopia. In addition to this work, since 1960 ORT’s International Cooperation programmes have helped non-Jewish communities throughout the continent improve their lives.
