Agence LAPI

One of the first workers’ cooperatives of photographers was created in the thirties, known as “Photographes Associés”. This was then taken over by Robert Delhay and the name changed to "Les Actualités Photographiques Internationales" (LAPI Agency).[1] During the Occupation, the agency was still operational and photographed scenes of French and Parisian life between 1939-1945.[2]

The collection of the LAPI agency, which includes more than 630,000 negatives and 27,000 period prints, was acquired by the Roger-Viollet Agency.[3]
