ORT Archive documents relating to Czechoslovakia.
ORT worked in Czechoslovakia between April 1947 and July 1949 to support Jewish refugees, temporarily settled in Moravia. It returned to the Czech Republic in 1996. The ORT online archive holds five documents relating to the immediate post-war period. Concerns Joint's activities in Czechoslovakia. States that it cannot give exact info re Joint courses. Explains that there are three weaving courses in Bratislava, Banska Bystrica and Kosice, but they are in decline due to lack of raw materials. The Joint organisation is a very important donor in Czechoslovakia for a variety of needs spending about 200,000 dollars monthly.
