ORT Archive Photos from Ukraine
ORT’s early work in Ukraine spanned 1880-1938. It supported Jewish vocational schools, artisans, farmers and cooperative ventures. Geo-political changes since the 1917 Russian Revolution mean that today’s Ukraine includes areas that had formed part of today’s Poland, Romania and Moldova at the time ORT worked in them, as seen in the photographic traces in the archive. ORT returned to Ukraine in 1997. For more about the programme see ORT in Ukraine. To view documents from Ukraine click here.
